Cherwell District Council and Thames Valley Police are working together to tackle anti-social behaviour, begging and street drinking in public in Bicester town centre.

Between May to December 2021, Thames Valley Police received 80 reports of antisocial behaviour relating to Bicester town centre.

We are now we are considering introducing a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO). The order would cover areas including Sheep Street, Pioneer Square, Market Square, Garth Park, and more.

Public Spaces Protection Orders give the council - supported by the police - extra powers to deal with individuals or groups committing anti-social behaviour in a public space where the behaviour is having, or likely to have a detrimental effect on the quality of life of those in the locality. It means, for example, we can warn people about their behaviour and encourage them to access support, issue fixed penalty notices, confiscate alcohol from people drinking on the street and take other proactive action to address problems.

This survey seeks the views of people and businesses who may be affected by anti-social behaviour, begging and street drinking in public in Bicester town. Your views matter. Please take a few moments to complete the form to tell us what you think

At the end of the survey, we will summarise the feedback given.
